Any Recommendations on This Before I Build? [EVGA GTX 980 SC, i5 4690k, Maximus VII Hero]

My friends told me to redo some parts of my build. (Case, optical drive, monitor, HDD, SSD, RAM, and they say I need an H100i.) Need some part suggestions. I have a $2,000 budget. No Microcenter near me and I'm not going overclock immediately. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/h7vbdC

Everything looks great to me. A lot of people will tell you to go with two R9 290Xes or GTX 970s, but a single GTX 980 will allow you to put another in in the future and have more power than dual GTX 970s or R9 290Xes. I do recommend to get a slightly cheaper kit of RAM (saw some 16GB stuff going for $100 a couple of days ago) and get a nicer cooler, such as the Cryorig R5 or R1 Ultimate.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 512GB SKHynix PC401, 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 2x Micron 1100 256GB SATA SSDs | GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10GB | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Pure Wings 3 | Case: Sliger SM580 (Black) | PSU: Lian Li SP 850W

Server: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Crucial DDR4 Pro | Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS AC-HES | Storage: 128GB Samsung PM961, 4TB Seagate IronWolf | GPU: AMD FirePro WX 3100 | Cooling: EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB | Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow (White) | PSU: Seasonic Focus GM-850

Miscellaneous: Dell Optiplex 7060 Micro (i5-8500T/16GB/512GB), Lenovo ThinkCentre M715q Tiny (R5 2400GE/16GB/256GB), Dell Optiplex 7040 SFF (i5-6400/8GB/128GB)

I would do without the thermal paste as the 212 provides you with it.

Do you need 16gb of ram?

WD black is speedier, but not really necessary.

If you don't need all the extra features I suggest going for a Gigabyte board and spending the cash you saved on other components

These are the changes I'd go with personally, also keep in mind it was marking the black hawk ultra as free, so you'd be paying about $100 extra for the build.

Nice.

2x4GB is enough for gaming and general use. More is only really needed if one is doing content creation, modeling, or running a lot of VMs.

The EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR is as good or better than the HX750 and less expensive.

An awfully large and pricey case. You may want to consider something like Phanteks Enthoo Luxe or Corsair Graphite Series 230T Black ATX Mid Tower Case.

Unless there are particular features of Windows 8.1 Pro that you need, I would suggest going with the standard version, Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit).

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
