Hi there first time posting wish me luck

I'm planning on doing my first build soon and after doing some research I've come up with the following plan

Case: Corsair air 540

MotherBoard: Asus M54A97 EVO R2.0

CPU: AMD FX8320
RAM: HYPERX  8GB(2x4GB) 1600mhz
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GTX 450Ti
SSD: Samsung 250GB 850 EVO 2.5 inch
Hard drive: samsung 1Tb 5400Rpm SataII 2.5 inch
PSU: sair VS 550W
CPU Cooler: Corsair hydro series H100i
Blu drive: LG BH16NS40.AUAR10B 16x SATA
Sound card: Asustek Xonar DX/XD PCI-E

Budget is Ideally £850 GB
Going to be using this as My main pc for graphic design and semi casual gaming

First question is have I made any glaringly obvious mistakes with items not being compatible And secondly any suggestions and improvements changes I can make to reduce cost / get better value for money.

Get the seagate barracuda 1tb. It should be faster and cost less

Note to people recommending the 4690k: The 4690k looses to the 8350 in Cinebench R15 multi-threaded which means the 8350 has more raw power.

NOTE: The 8350 WILL be slower in gaming but not professional work

Lets all ripperoni in pepperoni

The i5 4690K has significantly more single threaded power, so in gaming it will destroy the 8350.

I'd go for a newer gpu if possible, but I guess that one will work for now.

I'd say you don't really need a sound card as long as you have a half decent motherboard.

In practice, the i5 will beat the AMD chip in most scenarios.

The projects never end in my line of work.

So should I move to an intel i5 build instead? If I did what other items would I have to change and to what?

The motherboard and possibly cooler.

Intel is generally more stable a platform on the CPU side. Plus, the power savings and heat difference is outstanding.

Any suggestions on which motherboard and cooler have similar specs? I don't want much out of the mother board but would like it to have a HDMI Connection

Why? You have a dedicated video card with an HDMI don't you?
