Dark Rock Pro 3

Go to solution Solved by Thorium19,

So you want to do some passive cooling? you'd better have some decent cooling in your case, because I wouldn't be doing this in a stock define R5 I'll say that now, not with overclocks. The shadow rock would work, but you'd need even better cooling than with the dark rock pro 3. Expect temps to be a fair bit higher than with the fans on.

So I want to remove the fans and just have the heatsink cooling. I have a 4690k and was wondering how this would cool and if I can overclock. Also can I do the same concept on a Shadow Rock instead of the Dark Rock. I really like this concept so if none of these work than is there one that can.

i think you'll have higher temperatures without a fan on the heatsink because how is all the heat going to be removed?

i'd stick to having a fan on it if you want to overclock.
