So i've been bouncing around with the idea of building a brand new computer from scratch and passing down my old computer [specs in my signature] to my buddy as a gift.

What im looking to do:

  • Amateur/professional 3D modelling and rendering
  • AAA Gaming
  • Light/Moderate Home Server Functionality
  • Amateur/Youtube level video editing for all those sick 360 no-scopes

My necessities:

  • Ability to change OS [i like to play with other OS's like Linux & Android sometimes but not enough to warrant a separate system]
  • Power-on over wireless [even from outside the LAN]
  • Smaller form factor is better [feel free to use AiO Liquid Cooling]
  • My drives are staying in an external bay so feel free to go mATX
  • A PCIe Capture card would be interesting [i use an AVERmedia Live Gamer Portable that I love to death]

Summary:

  • you have up to $1500-$2000 plus you must use the extra parts i already have [outlined here]
  • show me your best builds for the purposes above [feel free to put a blurb why you chose each part, id love to know :)]
  • Please note the 4 2TB drives I have are in an external PROBOX container that i would like to keep as it was a present
  • I dont care what parts you use where or who makes them, i just wanna see what you come up with <3
  • YES I did include the cost of an OS in the PCPartPicker template on purpose
