What do with spare pc?

Go to solution Solved by omniomi,

Things I run on my servers at home:

- Plex Media Server: accessible from mobile devices like phones or tables, compatible with ChromeCast, and can be shared over the internet. Great centralized media solution.

- Private MediaWiki Instance: MediaWiki is the software Wikipedia runs... I have a private (password required) wiki at home that I use as a notebook... I use it for everything from coordinates in a Minecraft map to songs I intend to buy to general notes and reminders for myself... Everything is easily edited and has a history so I can go back if I delete something and recover it. Baking up the VM or the MySQL database backs up the wiki.

- Private Gallery3 Instance: Galllery3 is a PHP based photo gallery which I again have password locked on my home network. I use it to save and sort pictures I don't want sitting around in folders or that I want to be able to manage from any device with a browser.

- FreeNAS: Easy to use network storage.

- Own Cloud: Basically a self-hosted Google Drive or Dropbox... My phone auto upload every picture the camera takes to it and I can then access them from any computer without emailing them to myself or connecting a cable all without using someone else's storage like Google's.

I have a 4 core AMD and I can connect it to the internet, now the question is what to do with it. I was running a gmod server for a friend but he doesn't use it now. What would do with is, If you reply plz say y it is good and its benefits.I was thinking a web server but I don't know where to start. Thx for replies

Seriously... SSD + New OS Install, Gift or Sell to someone who could use it.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
