So I have been searching the internet for a few days now for an 18in gaming laptop with a reasonable price. (my range is around $1000.) At about this time most of you are probably saying "get bent, your crazy".... My question is, could I buy all of the parts separate and build my own alienware in that price range ? REASON I chose alienware,  is because I know they have great upgradability and freedom. Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should do? Do all laptops in a certain category have the same fittings and freedom to where I could pick and choose my own internals? Im new here so please direct me to the proper place to post this.

Dont go alienware. At least not if you're going for upgradeabilty/interchangeability. Check out Sager(?) Notebooks. Check out what they have there.
