Water cooling worth it?

Go to solution Solved by TheKDub,

Closed loop AIO's typically don't leak unless exposed to significantly cold temperatures, even then they may or may not leak.

and you can't really replace the liquid in them, and you don't really need to either.

This is my first system, so far I have been using the stock heatsink but I want to overclock and I've heard that water cooling is the best solution. I plan on getting the x61 kraken however I am cautious that it might leak... Is leaking common for closed loops and if it does leak how high are the odds it will ruin my system? Lastly how often will I have to replace the liquids for this specific cooler?

You dont change liquid in these type of coolers, when the pump stops working it is time to buy a new one ;)

I would personally get this one:

Asetek solutions can be a bitch to mount sometimes, my experience.

Generally not worth it compared to high-end air coolers.

All-in-one water cooling is more expensive and generally noisier than air coolers with comparable performance. Water cooling only really separates itself at the high end, where you just can't get a bigger air cooler.
