Can someone help me retrieve data on my laptop? I have a asus s56c and the built in 60gb issd module has some important data I need and I need to get it back. How do I get it back? The motherboard is fried by the way.

well if the storage was built into the mobo, you won't be able to retrieve it.

If its a regular ssd then just pull it out and plug it into a desktop.

Already did that with my regular ssd (upgraded from hdd)

They asked what type of connector the drive uses.

 

Also, I'm fairly sure that you won't be able to connect the issd to another computer if you can even remove it.

Do you have a Desktop?  It might (Takes Salt) be M.2

Whats M.2? also i have a desktop, i use the laptop as a server :P thats why its important data. I have an asus p7p55d-e lx motherboard that accepts pci and pcie and sata. If anything helps i have a i7 3770 cpu in a motherboard that maybe has a m.2 connecter? and the laptop was made in 2012.

m.2 is a form factor used by SSDs and some other devices.

It's another Data way for SSDs.  Do you have the laptop open right now?

I cant since i dont have mobile :l

its mot m.2 for sure since it was made in 2012 and m.2 cards have 3 pin lanes and the card only has 2 like a pci-e connecter,

I have a PCI Express and I looked at the pins because I have a sata 6gb pcie card and i compared the pins and the pci-e one is way larger and the the ssd has way smaller pins.
