R9 290 should I?

GhostWindGamer
Go to solution Solved by incarnate,

so long as it wasn't used for mining, and if it is a reference design, i hope you don't mind a loud video card. for that price, it is definitely worth it tho. it is a great card, has tons of memory bandwidth and can handle anything you throw at it in 1080 or 1440p. definitely pull the trigger (again if it wasn't used for mining otherwise i wouldn't take a chance on it)

So I can get a used R9 290 for $250 Australian which is awesome and I was wondering should I pull the trigger on it? I don't have a GPU at the moment if that matters. Cheers guys :D

Why not get  970 instead? just save up the little bit extra you need :)

Half serious but half joking btw, sorry i couldn't resist, every time i see someone asking for advice between a 980 or a 970 or some other Nvidia v Nvidia decision you always get someone chime in and say get XXX AMD card instead lol

9/10 times he wont own up to it. Ask him to stress it for you. Run it through a couple bench marks and work the hell out of it.

Um...ya. Before you give him any cash. If he is legit, he wont have a problem showing you how it runs.
