3.5 ssd

i cant undersand why ther are no 3.5 ssd on the market i think that thay can be chiper and faster then the 2.5 ssd

The thing is, they're not cheaper, because is cost them more metal for the casing and they won't be faster because SSD's now are limited by the SATA interface and not by the chips themselves.

Also, 2.5" is easier to sell because you have buyers with laptops and desktops.

The simplest answer is that due to the actual physical structure of solid state drives, they don't require the larger form factor that HDDs do. With HDDs, the larger form factor allows for larger platters, which in turn means more storage. SSDs do not require the same form factor as HDDs, and a larger form factor is detrimental for several reasons.

On a broader level, 2.5" is compatible with both laptops and desktops, and in this respect it appeals to the largest possible audience (namely everyone).

3.5" models do exist and can be seen frequently on OCZ models, but simply put they would not be cheaper, nor faster, nor have more capacity, than a regular 2.5" SSD.
