I am wanting to build a personal cloud for me and my dad, but there is only one problem I don't know where to start. Are there any videos the will help me figure out what we need?

@Alibaladin Not exactly what he is looking for. Homegroups are mostly just for LAN sharing. Not really what a Cloud is used for. Plus, you didn't elaborate at all. Frankly, your post wasn't very useful. Please try to add a bit more explanation and helpfulness to posts when helping newbies :)

@Starfox2819 it depends on several factors: What devices you need to support (Including what OS each uses). What equipment you have at your disposal (Do you have a NAS or home server? If not, are  you willing to make one? Do you want to have it run off your personal gaming PC? or a spare computer in the house?). What features you want to have (Simple filing sharing? Or more complex things like web apps, calendar syncing, etc).

Here are some links to get you started:

Owncloud is probably the "most popular" solution:

A couple lists of alternatives:

Another likely solution is BitTorrent Sync.

@Starfox2819 can you elaborate a bit on what you'd like to use the cloud for? How you'd like to use it? Who will use it? What features you'd like? Where would you like to be able to access this cloud? etc.

The cloud will be so me and my dad don't have to store everything on our computer's. I would like to be accessible anywhere if possible that way if something happens like a fire or flood we can still access everything. It will be hosted on a separate computer that I am willing to make.

Not a sure but I know it is from at&t uverse and can't check it now because I am not home

I would seriously suggest you consider making your cloud using OwnCloud. One of the links I gave you has a guide on that.

So correct me if I am wrong but I don't need to build a dedicated PC for this and it is free with unlimited space?

Not exactly.

You will require one of the following:

1. Hosted web space (Either a domain or a VPS), or

2. A dedicated computer you own to act as a web server

Looking at the guide, it seems OwnCloud is a bit complicated to setup if you intend to host it yourself (If you buy hosted web space, that costs money, and likely has limitations on speed and on data).

Certainly do-able, but maybe not for a newbie.

I might suggest using BitTorrent Sync instead now. It will be easier to setup, though it does have more limitations:

http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/share-large-files-bittorrent-sync/

It really comes down to whether you'd like to learn how to create and host your own LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) web server, and install OwnCloud ontop of that, or whether you want something simple and easy to use, like BitTorrent Sync.
