So I got really bored tonight and decided to combine two AMD CPU cooler heatsinks together to go on my FX-6300. To my surprise it actually did drop the temps by about ten degrees celcius... This was all for fun, and I already have plans to order the NH-D14, so please don't get mad at my stupidity :D

PC: Ryzen 2600X, EVGA 1080 DT, Gigabyte X470 Aorus Gaming 5 WiFi, Corsair 2x8GB DDR4 3000Mhz, EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold, Phanteks  Enthoo EVOLV ATX

Peripherals: Logitech G502 HERO, Cooler Master ML510, Corsair K68 Cherry MX Red, Dell S2417DG YNY1D 24" 165HZ G-Sync 1440p, Acer XF251Q, 

Audio: AKG K7XX, JBL SLR308 MKI, Scarlett 2i4 (2nd Gen), Sony MDR-7506, Shure SE-215, Audio-Technica AT2020
Server: Dell Poweredge T420 running ESXi, Hosting Plex and Automation services and misc. game servers; 2x Xeon E5-2400, 32GB ECC Memory, ~40TB Storage (Mix of SSDs and HDDs)

Actually this isn't a half bad idea......it increases the surface, so heat dissipates across the heatsink more.

Yep. Pennies because copper will totally make a difference xD

I'm planning on upgrading the system in the near future to a case that does have a side window. However, it's funny that you mention zipties, because I also got bored last week and took a fan (from what I believe was an old Xbox) and put it on the side xD wrB1XCl.jpg?1

A lot are zinc (if you flip it and it makes a ting noise then it's copper), but never the less it's not a bad temporary solution.

An update on my system: I got rid of the ghetto cooler and upgraded to the NH-D14. Ignore the cable management, this is half way through the installation.
