Get the 840 non-pro. The performance difference is negligible.

No need for a caviar black if you already have an ssd. Get a caviar blue or seagate barracuda instead. If you want faster loading in games, bump up to a 250GB samsung 840.

Don't get aftermarket thermal paste. The one that comes with the Evo will do just fine.

Since you're not doing extreme overclocking (Hyper 212), you can go with a much cheaper mobo. Even the cheapest z87 board will do. If you're getting it for looks, the G45 gaming shouldn't look too far off.

Same as above^--get Windows 8 if it's just for gaming.

You'll be cutting it close with Ripjaws ram. I'd get lower profile ram if I were you but it should work anyway.

Great monitor choice.

Just to confirm, the Ripjaws DOES work with the 212 Evo.

No need for thermal paste.

For that price why not get a mech keyboard? Look into the ducky zero.

Otherwise it looks okay.

i5 3570 | MSI GD-65 Gaming | OCZ Vertex 60gb ssd | WD Green 1TB HDD | NZXT Phantom | TP-Link Wifi card | H100 | 5850

The CM Storm Trigger is a mech keyboard and I have it on good authority (unknown sources) that it kicks ass

Unless you're running one of AMD's APUs, I doubt you'll ever notice a difference between 1866mhz and 1600mhz memory. Good component to save a few bucks on. I really wish Samsung didn't discontinue their low-profile 30nm RAM. It's some of the most underrated and overclockable DDR3 RAM out there. And I agree with them, scratch the thermal paste, it isn't needed. If you do feel you must use aftermarket thermal paste, there are better ones than AS5. Once upon a time, it was the best. That isn't the case anymore. Some of the solutions by Tuniq are pretty good.

EDIT: Perhaps I was wrong. In the charts in this review, AS5 is still among the top. I could have sworn it was further down the list in some chart I looked at last year.

for a budget like that you should get a better cpu cooler to give you some headroom for overclocking.
