Windows 8.1 On A CD

Im just wondering. Does it matter if I put windows 8.1 on a cd rather than a dvd?

You can't put it on a CD. CD usually don't have that much capacity. The average CD has like 700mb of space. An ISO needs like 4* GBs.

Right about the CD capacity, but an average Windows 8/8.1 ISO won't need more than 4GB. Most basic DVD-Rs top out at 4.7GB IIRC.

Actually you can split the Win8 into smaller sizes for CDs by using the DISM command, part of their Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK). Just install from the DVD itself or install from USB.

 I stand corrected. I was basing it off of my memory from doing it so many times. That second glace at how big the file is.
