Today in the mail I received my brand new Samsung 850 EVO. I had been awaiting this for a while and eagerly stuck it in my PC and migrated all my boot data to it.

Specs of SSD are as follows:

Sequential write up to 520mb/s

Sequential read up to 540mb/s

4KB Random Read (QD32) 94k IOPS
4KB Random Write (QD32) 88k IOPS

I was fiddling with the settings after I put it in and came across RAPID mode. I researched the function on the Samsung website and it states that it harnesses excess PC power to accelerate the SSD. I placed both RAPID mode and High performance mode on. I was expecting a minimal increase in performance but what I got I was not expecting ;_;

I don't know if this is normal and I'm going to look like an idiot if it is. Any input is welcome, I only bite on tuesdays

(Attached is CrystalDisk benchmarks and Samsung Benchmark snippits, feel free to use them with reference to me)

Ciao for now.  :P
