Yeah it's usually cheaper to get parts from multiple sources. Newegg usually have the best sales on gpus and ssds. Then there's microcenter for cpu/mobo combos. The rest is kinda just wherever happens to have the best prices. 

My personal rig - 4790k 4.8Ghz, Asus Z97 Pro (wi-fi ac), Corsair Dominator Plat 4x8GB, SLI GTX 1080 TI FE, Samsung 850 Evo 1TB, Crucial MX100 512GB, EVGA G3 1000W, and cooled by a hardline liquid cooling loop.

I would also say to try and avoid mail-in-rebates. Newegg has a lot of those. Amazon, not so many.

Best part about me, I never have to buy parts online. My local shop will beat any retailer/e-retailer by 10%.

 

Makes my life.
