I'm thinking about upgrading my PC. I don't know where my bottlenecks are in my system. I'm currently looking at upgrading my GTX 760 4GB to a GTX 980. I'm also looking at upgrading my 1TB HDD to a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD. I need to know if these upgrades are worth the money I'm putting into it. I mostly do gaming and I want to squeeze every frame out of my machine as possible.

Thanks, BluShammrock

SSD will only improve load times, and will not benefit FPS in any way.

980 is good i would just get like 120 gb ssd for as cheap as you can get and use it as a hard drive cache

My Cheap But Good Rig: I7-3770s, Intel Motherboard (actually made by intel), 16gb DDR3, Nvidia Gtx 1070, 250gb Samsung 850 EVO SSD, 750gb HDD, Evga 500 BR power supply

SSD is always a great upgrade, however a GTX 980 might be bottlenecked by your CPU (depending on what you have of course). If you have any newer intel i5/i7 or amd similar (sorry don't know their models) then you should be fine.

Considering your specs, there's no bottleneck.

Just get a 128/256GB SSD instead, install the OS and your softwares on it, keep the games and other large things on the HDD. Use the extra money you saved from getting a lower capacity SSD to upgrade the GPU if you really want to.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Bazzite

Pretty much this.

I live with a 128gb SSD, and I'm yet to fill it out.
