Does 1440p downscaled to 1080p look better than native 1080p?

Does 1440p downscaled to 1080p look better than native 1080p?

Not from what I have seen. It doesn't scale evenly like 4k, so sometimes the image just looks weird(blurry, lines stand out, etc.). There is a term for this but I forgot it.

Does 1440p downscaled to 1080p look better than native 1080p?

video no(well kinda depending on bitrate), gaming it's a SUPER intensive way to do Anti Aliasing, so yes a bit. cranking AA will work beter unless you have lots of GPU horsepower and only a 1080p monitor..

No it looks like crap becuse it's not a multiple of 1080p. 1440p only looks good at 720 down scaled

Does 1440p downscaled to 1080p look better than native 1080p?

I was forced to do this for a few days since I had to take apart my desktop and my laptop only supports up to 1080p. You don't want to do it. It looks wierd and blurry. Native 1080p looks better than 1440p downsized to 1080p.

Ok

The main reason I'm asking if cause obviously Youtube and like all other video hosting sites support 1080p and nothing higher. So not really a point in me recording my games on my 1440p monitor, just stick to 1080p
