Hello! I'm building a computer for my friend. He has a budget of $1450, I was wondering if this was good enough for $1208. Please tell me what I can improve, and what I can get rid of.

(I really want this to have a Maxwell GPU if I can)

(AMD Processor, Intel is too expensive, but I wish I could have a better FX processor.)

(Recommend another Motherboard? This one seems a little overkill)

(The case is also a little bad, I would want a H440 if I could have one)

(I would also rather have a HP Pavilion 23fi, It's 1080p, and it's IPS display is great. Any other awesome 1080p displays would be fine)

PARTS:

CPU

AMD FX 8-Core Black Edition FX-8310 – AM3+

$115

GPU

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB – PCIE 3.0

So is it good? What can I improve on? Feedback greatly appreciated.

(BTW, I'm mostly running League of Legends on this, but other games as well)

Why did you say $2,000 then say $1,450/1200?

I'm so confused lol.

If you're mostly playing LoL, get a pentium g2358 or an i3, LoL is a very single threaded game and you'll get better performance with an i3/pentium G2358. (Maybe even a low end I5 can be squeezed in)

Should be cheaper as well, you can usually find pentium combos + motherboard for around ~100-140$

better option:  (and he'd have money left over for more upgrades if he wants)

U can get a i7 and dual 980 for that price... That's not value class any more.

Avoid AMD for gaming.  You want an Intel i5, you might even be able to afford an i7.

Don't spend so much money on peripherals to start.  You want to focus all of your money right now on core components that impact in game performance.  Peripherals can be added at a later date when more money is available.  Get by on a $30 mouse and keyboard bundle, and then later invest in higher end peripherals, but to start, you need to focus your money on pure performance.

Same as above, don't spend so much on a keyboard and mouse, you can upgrade this later.

Also, that motherboard is overkill for that CPU. Get a decent i5 and a much cheaper motherboard.

If you get an i5 4690k and the cheapest Z97 motherboard, you have a lot more performance for your money.

Get a better GPU with the money you've saved, like a GTX 970 or a R9 280x.

FX-8310 and 750 Ti on that budget? that is just sad.... i bought my 950 euro pc (without mouse/keyboard/monitor) and it has an i7-4790k and a MSI 960 so yeahhhh

That ram is wayy too expensive, get crucial ballistix sport, 8 gb 60$

and that ssd, just go with a crucial BX or MX series, those are cheaper and still reliable

and that keyboard/mouse, why would you ever need that, you can get away with a 30-40$ mouse without the bling bling but with the same quality..

and the keyboard, i dont know how a mechanical keyboard feels but i can game on a cheap 10$ acer keyboard i had laying around so do you really need mechanical switches?

this build has alot of flash but not alot of dash, i think it should be the other way around with a build :)

ps: im not h8ing but i am giving constructive criticism :)

Thanks for the help everyone, but the prices are AUD, and we are having like a GFC right here. I made another computer with a 960 and better CPU, thanks for the help, i really appreciate it. I will upload the upgraded one.

Please do not buy a 960.  It is a terrible GPU.  Allow me to build you a computer now that I know what region it is for.

Also, what is a GFC?

This build is exponentially better than what you built, and can even be cut down slightly if you would like.  Ways to do this are: #1 decide that he never wants to go with more than one GPU.  #2 Buy a motherboard that isn't SLI capable, should save about $50.  #3 Go with an R9 290 instead of a GTX970, should save about $75.  #3 Go with a less expensive case, but I do really love the Enthoo Pro, you should look into it.  #4 Can go with a less expensive PSU, but really, that one looks like a good option based on what is available.  #4 Go with a smaller size monitor, can save about $40 if you went with the 22" model of that monitor.

I left you to choose peripherals, but I STRONGLY recommend leaving peripherals out of your budget until you have the best possible components that impact in-game performance.

Don't cripple your PC by spending on peripherals.  You can always add peripherals.
