PCI E 1 Divices

Hi People,

 

So here are the parts I have

 

• Motherboard - Asus Rampage IV Extreme
• Possessor - Intel® Core ™ i7-3930K
• Ram - Corsair Dominatior GT 32 Gigs (DDR3 2133 MHz)
• Creative Sound Blaster ZXR - Problem
• AverMedia HD Capture Card
• AMD R9 290XGigabyte

 

Some times its the sound card that is not working sometimes its the Avermedia card do I have them in the wrong slots

 

Please look at the picture and let me and tell me what I am doing wrong

Try using them in the black slots rather then the red ones. If issue still persists it could possibly be a driver issue.

Also, both Avermedia and Creative aren't known for having the best drivers(as in, they have been problematic), so you could just be dealing with their glitchyness.

Never had this problem in my old board thats why I think its more about what slots they should be in

Did you try what Aniallation said?

disable on board sound. check for patches ( like alchemy ) from SB. Use 1x slot as suggested. ( that would be the small black one )....... don't know why they started not putting those on top anymore. Was out of the way and useful there.

guess not. if you haven't uninstalled hardware and drivers and then installed each one and try them out.....................

I have done all that and seams I can only have one card in at a time for the divices to work

what if you only start the avermedia card when needed? after restart....disable start up in system config utility. reboot. try.

I have determind that there is a problem with the motherboard as my usb3 also stops and starts on it own while doing data trasfer so I have started the RMA prosess and will let you guys know the outcome
