Question about Omega Catalyst drivers

Okay, so I currently use a 770, and am eagerly awaiting March/Spring as that is rumored when AMD will be announcing their 300 series.  Now, I have not used an AMD card since their 6000 series (back when I got a passively cooled Sapphire card as my entry into PC gaming).  Problem is, I didn't use it for very long before it died about 1-2 years later.  So my last experience with AMD was when their drivers (or lack of them) were a running joke.

My only question is about the Omega drivers, which I heard improved the performance of a lot of games and in general gave a lot of improvements.  How well did these improve the AMD cards compared to old CCC drivers?

I used a R9 280 for a week with the Omega Drivers and they were great no crashes or driver issues. Just uninstalling them were sort of a pain.

They work better, but there are still plenty of people having issues from the hundreds of posts on the internet about Omega drivers not working.

I think that its worth a shot (buying the 300 series), its pretty likely that you wont have any issues.

omega drivers are just an annual driver release that is beefier than regular driver updates. usually there are beta drivers for big AAA game releases, and the odd WHQL driver. there will most certainly be beta driver after beta driver for the 390/x release, just like there was for every previous card launch.

the drivers will be updated for the r9 300 series, but the drivers now are better than they used to be, but i have had my fair share of them crashing (not only with this card, but my previous 280x also) if i can find them i think i may switch back to the 12.14 drivers

All amd drivers are shit mate

/s

The omega drivers are very stable tbh . I just noticed that it was harder to hold an oc on the beta drivers.

Been using amd cards for 5 years without any major issue.

Some display crashes due to oc only.
