Hey guys,

i'm getting bluescreens for a few weeks but usually not while gaming but e.g. when i run WMP in fullscreen on my 2nd monitor and double click to get it back to windowed.

First i was suspected the overclock on my 7870 so i set everything back to stock but it still happens from time to time (cleaned the catalyst driver with the amd driver cleany utility and installed the catalyst 13.4, still happens). Anyway i fired up the windows debugging tool and took a look at the crash dump, but to be honest i'm not really smarter than before.

.

I'll post the !analyze -v log, maybe someone knows whats going on.

Heya,

It seems this is a common fault on AMD cards. It is a problem caused by Catalyst and not the AMD driver itself.

I found a thread on it from another forum (boo hiss! lol) but It might answer some questions for you and shed light on how you can fix it. I, myself don't have an AMD card. So I can't personally help you with the problem.

Here is the thread from Overclock.net

atikmdag.sys Thread

I hope this helps,

Thanks for the input guys. I'll uninstall everything amd related and only install the display driver without ccc (although it would suck not being able to tweak games with driver settings).

If it doesn't help i'll test my memory. Seems that this problem is around for ages and still not fixed? Can't remember ever having problems with the forceware driver with my gtx 460  <_<

And on a side note it also bugs the hell out of me that i can't get downsampling to work, they broke it with 13.xx
