Considering that there is no such thing as 'future proof' I'd say not very though it's a very nice system :)

Isn't the definition of future proof mainly used only when talking about game titles and how long will using max settings in new games last? If your playing older games this system is more then future proof and it will take a looooots of internet browser tabs to be opened to for it slow down. However if it comes to photoshop work, I think it is as future proof for as long as your are willing to put up with it I think.

Nah future proof is something that does not exist. A game studio might drop a game tomorrow that will smoke all the PCs and even if you built it 1 day ago it might not be able to run it.

PCs are never future proof. Build a good PC now, and upgrade it once you feel the need to, this simple ^^

But it's a decent build.

As long as you aren't a gamer, you will have a strong system for 4+ years for sure.  Good job

If you do not game, and simply use word and browse, get some APU and build a 300-400$ machine.

You will be running games on that at high to ultra settings (baring the odd exception) for 3-5 years.

You can always add a second graphics card for more performance down the line too...

In terms of Photoshop and internet, probably a little overkill to be honest.

why would you spend 2800$ on something that you are just using to browse the internet and use word on that makes no sense you could have built a 500$ machine and upgraded in the future if your needs changed

I think you should go 7970 instead for the extra gram

I personally don't care for the 7970 and it can't stack to well aginst the 770 for the price.

I agree the 7970 gives you another Gb with no added cost, and you can get the Gigabyte version that has the WF triple fan cooler. I would imagine it is pulling pretty impressive temperatures under load.

I would However get a larger case, because this case may hinder your abilities to upgrade in the future.

There is no such thing as a futureproof PC. If you mean how much will it last until it starts to be a big pile of dirt and rust i would say that we cannot estimate that. Tech is evolving faster and faster, and since there isnt a current estimate for that, there isnt a current estimate for your PC. It will maybe last two and a half years, and maybe forever. Why is that? People are making technology and already made a demo that will give real life graphics with minimal performance hit. I dont remember the full name of video but i remember that there was probably over 200 bilion pixels in all objects of the demo and the system did manage to run that on 45-70 fps. (we are talking about 3 times better graphics than crysis 3)

Just see how the time goes and you will get a estimate.
