What raid to use?

Go to solution Solved by Speedbird,

Ok so i am getting a new pc and i am getting 1 ssd and 1 hard drive. What raid setup should i do?

FYI: Im getting a Corsiar Force LS 120GB ssd and a Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB Hard drive

Don't do RAID. Just install Windows on your SSD and store your files on the hard drive.

Hi there @Justin Meyer!

Since it's a SSD and a HDD, I wouldn't recommend to set them in RAID because you'll be limited to the speed of the slowest drive in the array. Instead you can use the SSD for your primary drive (OS and demanding apps) and the HDD as a secondary storage (music, movies, non-demanding programs etc.).

Cheers! :)
