1. Location: Melbourne, Australia
2. Budget $1650 AUD can push a little

3.Aim: Mostly Gaming, will be overlcocking. Probably won't need a 4770k since i probably won't be doing much rendering or demanding video editing. Will be playing games such as Crysis 3 and League of Legends.

4. Monitors I currently have a 1080p monitor and an auxiliary display i use as well.

5. Peripherals: Will not need new peripherals as i already have a Gigabyte Aivia Osmium Mechanical Keyboard and  a Razer Naga. Currently in process of RMAing Vengeance 200 headset

6. Reason for upgrading Current PC is too old. E6600, 9800gt. Struggles at new games.

Reasons for parts:
THese are my reasons for choosing these parts, however please provide feedback as others might have more knowledge than me (i'm only 15)

Gigabyte GTX 770 - Since i'm gaming on a 1080p monitor, a GTX 770 will be more than enough. I don't see myself going to multi monitor gaming in the near future, and if i were, i would probably go AMD since they provide better multi monitor support than Nvidia. GTX 780 is out of price range and is probably unnecessary for 1080p gaming.  Could downgrade to gtx 760 if gtx 770 is too much. Picked Gigabyte since it was the second cheapest and provided better cooling for GPU boost 2.0.

4670k - want to overclock, but i don't need hyper-threading. Judging from the current news about Haswell overclocking, i don't know how high i will be able to overclock, nor am i very well versed in the art of overclocking. I guess it will just be luck that determines how well i'll be bale to overclock

Swiftech h220 - Best AIO watercooling unit, supports expansion, costs the same as a h100i, what more can i say?

Gigabyte Z87x UD3H - one of the parts i am unsure about and which i wil need feedback about. Is the 8 Phase power design enough for overclocking? Should i get an Asrock Extreme 6 or MSI Gd65 which both have 12 phase power design AND better built in sound (Realtek ALC 1150 vs Realtek ALC 898)? I mainly chose this board because it was cheap compared to the others and because it fit in with my blue theme i want to have. Plus Gigabyte's UEFI Dualbios looks to be the best looking and easiest Bios to use.

Silverstone Strider Plus 850w - Yes i know i could get away with a 750w or 650w power supply, but for only $13 more than the 750w version, i figured that it would just be better to get the 850w even htough it is overkill. It would allow for SLI in the future, custom watercooling and other upgrades. THis was the cheapest 80 plus silver fully modular power supply, and OklahomaWolf from Jonny Guru gave it a 9 so it can't be that bad.

Corsair vengeance pro Memory - don't need more than 8gb, just standard memory

NZXT Switch 810 case - I know it's big but it will support anything and everything. WIll allow for more radiators if i decide to expand the h220

NZXT HUE - Aesthetics

XIgmatek XAF fans - 2 to go for push/pull with h220. I knwo there is no real advantage to push/pull but its purely for aesthetics. One question i have is do i get another 2, remove the bottom hdd cage, and put them at the bottom as intake fans? If i take the top 140mm included NZXT fan and move it to the front this would create positive pressure since there would be 4 intake fans and only 3 fans pushing air out of the case (2 from rad and 1 at the back). Is positive pressure worth it?

Bitfenix Alchemy Cable extension - Aesthetics

Reused Parts

1080p Monitor

1tb WD black
2tb WD green

Mechanical Keyboard
Razer Naga
Corsair Headset (vengeance 2000) - (since it uses USB audio this would mean  that onboard sound doesn't matter right?)

An SSD maybe, dont think I see one in there and it would really be worth it! :)

I know there are probably some that disagree with me but personally I kinda regretted chosing the i5 over the i7, the price difference is not that big and if games get better optimized for multi core now, it might make a difference. Idk, just think it would be worth an extra thought.. :)

I probably won't have them for a while but there is a pretty good comparision between them and other sleeved cable extensions here

Yeah an SSD is probably something to consider. Samsung 540 a good idea?

I might give the 4770k a thought, although i'm still not sure if it's worth the $115 premium here in Aus. Still something i should consider though

with the 4670k you should be able to get a 10-20% overclock no problem. You might wanna take a look at the Asus Gryphon Z87 has a very solid power delivery. Also Asus boards have a feature called 4-way oprimization which is great if at overclocking your cpu automatically.

Core i7 4820K  |  NH-D14 | Rampage IV Extreme | Asus R9 280X DC2T | 8GB G.Skill TridentX | 120GB Samsung 840 | NZXT H440  |  Be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 650W

Yeah i could go for the Gryphon but it would look tiny in the switch lol. It would look nice with the thermal armor kit though.

Unless I'm not updated right now I think you mean the Samsung 840 right? if that is what you meant, that is a good choice indeed!

The pro and non-pro versions are both good, in my opinion the non-pro is good enough for OS and programs because you wont really need the extra write speeds of the pro version. one thing to note though is that the PRO version uses som flash that generally has a longer lifetime.. :)

Hmm, yahr ok. I thought the prices in aus was kinda what we have in Denmark, but it looks like its a little more expensive down there, not much though..
