Okay so as we know hackintoshes can be rather difficult to pull off, more so if the hardware is not supported, but with that it is possible to actually get the system running to a decent amount, I can get the system booting without any input from me, I have all the flags set on boot and I have things like the Appstore and games working very well.

But it wasn't all easy, most things worked for me, considering I have a G1 Sniper M3 and they are not really supported, ethernet worked out of the box for me, and so did the iGPU (i5 2500).

Sound and my actual GPU (R9 290) did not how ever, and took a bit of work to get working, nothing to major, with what I know now I could get the system up and running in say 30 mins.

So I used Niresh as my distro, yes I know its not official OSX, but its close and has some help, and it doesn't have spyware, it also throws some tweaks in for good measure, none really needed for me it would seem.

So for installing don't touch anything in customise apart from laptop tools, you don't need them on the desktop, there normally just stuff like battery monitors, everything else including the bootloader leave default, I also do not use UEFI boot with the USB, as it has caused problems.

I also didn't need flags to boot into the installer.

After install on the first boot I need to jump into the BIOS and change my default GPU to the iGPU to stop issues related to my GPU, and for boot flags I use -v and npci=0x3000 to get past the bluetooth error, this boots me into a system where I need to setup my accounts etc, the system on first boot is very very slow and laggy but usable, Niresh automatically optimises the system and I use multibeast to get rest of my stuff running.

So my drivers are as follows

Audio - VoodooHDA 2.7.2 - This is the only one that works for me.

Disk - I just enable TRIM

Graphics - Enable the mixed configuration setting

Misc - All FakeSMC and USB3.0 and NullCPUPowerManagement, I also select VoodooTSCSync 4 core.

Network - I don't need it, works out of box due to intel controlled nic.

System - Don't need anything here.

Leave bootloaders alone again

Nothing needed from boot options, I use Chameleon wizard for this later.

SSDT - i5 Sandy Bridge as this is my CPU and I want to allow turbo.

System defs - Mac Pro 6.1, it has the best support for the R9 290 (based on the new Mac Pro I believe)

Themes - Leave default.

Now this works for me, you may have the same hardware but things may not work for you, they can be followed if you wish but I won't be held responsible for any damages.

Now let Multibeast do its thing and build, I did get errors with some VoodooHDA stuff, I found that 2.7.2 works best for me.

Finishing that if you have the same specs as me and want the R9 290 to work correctly you need to follow this guide here   http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298443-r9-290-non-x-yosemited-help/

This will show you how to enable the GPU via kext editing, you will need to use Chameleon wizard to apply kext-dev-mode=1 also for HDMI audio you need to enable them under the audio sub section.

After all this you should be ready to boot without any flags, also change the timeout of the bootloader to 2 seconds, reason for this is 1 its faster and you dont need to touch the keyboard, second is if you need to flag anything, you can do with a bit more time.

When you restart jump back into your BIOS, change the GPU selection to Auto again, then switch the HDMI cable back to the dGPU and boot into Yosemite.

From here the screen resolution should be set to your monitors maximum in Yosemite.

One big problem with this is that you cant update the system without breakage, this is something I havent fixed yet, but updating apps works like it should, just system updates, I don't know if the combo updates from tonymacx86 work either.

But apart from that your hackintosh should be setup and ready, if you do update the system please do backup, you can easily restore via disk utility on your USB, and pull kexts out for easy install if you break the system.
