Discussion about GPU temps

Ok my firends say that for a GTX 770 safe temprature of 98 is stupid and crazy and I also state that 20 degrees less is reasonable and they laugh at me. My GPU is currently at 57 degrees stable and I don't want to up my fans so it's silent and they say my GPU will burn. Just comment here and say what you think so I get supporting evidence. Thanks guys

770's max operating temp is 93C, less then 20C is what ever since normally that is an idle temp and my reference cards only see that when I'm benching them. 57C is fine your 770.

i would NEVER run ANY GPU above 75c...personaly...regardless of what nvidia or AMD might consider SAFE...why? because they do want you to buy a new GPU in a year or two.
