Upgraded my office PC

Last week when my GPU died on me, I decided it was time to upgrade my office rig. It needed to be done, it was still mainly using FM1 socket APU/MOBO and it was getting old. It came from a HP computer I had bought years ago and now it's time to give it a proper upgrade. I didn't plan to go to crazy with it, kept it simple but yet good enough to play games while I waited for my 780 to go through the 780 process.

 

The first set of images are from before the CPU/MB upgrade.

 

 

I had actually bought the 750ti the same day as when I got the new CPU/MB and put it in before I got them to make sure it worked properly. It does. As you can tell, cable management wasn't a concern at the time lol. Nor is it my forte.

 

Now we're cooking with grease here! I hooked up the SSD (before I just put it in for preperation, wasn't installed yet.) and use it for a boot drive. Got the CPU/MB installed, re installed windows and everything works perfectly! It works much better than the old AMD stuff in there.

I hope you like it! As of right now I am considering this project done. There isn't really anything else left to upgrade or change. It's working smoothly and seems to be good for office work and some very light gaming. (I may upgrade the CPU down the line if I ever need more than a dual core, but for now it seems to be fine.)

Well I didn't really need it. Since I can't OC this CPU it seemed a waste on it, so I put it away and will save it for a PC that can use it The only reason I was using it before was because I had broke the stock cooler and needed it for it, otherwise I never would have used it lol

To be honest I havent even checked yet, so far I've only put SWTOR on it and downloading BF4 now. I'll do my testing on BF4 when it's installed and I'll let you know. I really dont expect it to be much, many have shown this GPU to be around 50 celcius under load. The CPU I will check.

I did some testing with SWTOR and it seemed it stayed right around 40 Celcius for CPU and GPU right around 35

Not dead just got real busy with work for awhile. Now things have calmed down a bit Which is good cause now I need to upgrade my gaming rig

 

I love your Athena build btw. I almost went with the G3258 as well but decided I didn't really need it. I was tempted though, plus I know down the line I'll likely upgrade to the Xeon or i5 equivelant.
