SLI option not available for Titans

ttwister

Hi

I based this new system off of one of the videos – looks great/fast but… I can’t seem to get SLI working with my ASUS GTX Titan and the ASUS GTX Titan Black?

Here is what I have;

ASUS Rampage Extreme V (latest BIOS)

Corsair Dominator RAM

ASUS GTX Titan

ASUS GTX Titan Black

Fresh install, Win 8.1 (updated)

HX1000i corsair PS

What I’ve tried;

Shifting different PCI slots/configuration

Reinstalling/clean install of drivers

New SLI connectors

I see both cards in device manager – (option for SLI in NVidia control panel is not available?)

I can run my display from both cards

Yes, turning it off and back on/pushing F5/standing on my head etc…

Thanks for any help!

Like Tedster said, you need two matching cards to do SLI.

I want you to try what I link and see if it works though. I tried it with a GTX 770 and a GTX 660 Ti and it didn't work (crashes at load), but you may have more luck..

The Titan and Titan Black have different chips (well technically they are the same, but one's got more enabled cuda cores etc).

Therefore it's not possible to put them in SLI.

Well, that sucks - I did buy the black to SLI with my current Titan... apparently the 'older' titan was discontinued - I assumed a titan was a titan:(.

Ummm... anyone want to buy a never used Titan?

Thanks for the responses!
