Hello.

I am connected to internet through ethernet cable that RJ-45 calbe or how is it called. The cable is coming from switch. There is another calbe that is connected to my laptop but that works fine everything is running. But when i plug RJ-45 into my desktop pc it doesnt recognize or find it. I can only connect to the internet through external USB WIFI card which has antena. I would like to get connected through the RJ-45 port and use internet through this. How can i achieve it? I think there is problem with integrated LAN because when i plug the calbe to my laptop everything works fine.

Thank you very much for any suggestions and replying.

- are your desktop's wired network drivers installed?

- do you have static IP setup on the desktop, and forgotten about it?

- is the RJ-45 port on the desktop damaged?

- is your wired IP address pool full? (shouldnt be the case)

First open your device manager and have a look weather there is any device that is not detectet correctly... The driver for your ethernet chip might not be working correctly. Just to be sure you can google your adapter and download the driver of the website of the manufacturer. Just install it and it will override any older driver.

Also i have a question: Does your computer do nothing when you plug the cable in or is there any kind of reaction?

static ip means that your router does not give an ip address to the computer, but you have to enter it manually.

Then i suggest you do what i told you with the drivers... if you have any further questions about the driver go ahead and ask ;)

i installed driver and i got blue screen ._.

When you go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections do you see any ethernet adapters? And if you do what ethernet properties (ipv4/v6) are set up?

802.11n Wireless LAN Card

Is the ethernet port on your motherboard or are you using a network interface card?
