So in the few threads I've made recently, including the Show off Your Setup post for my old rig, I've been saying "new build coming soon" "just waiting on a few more parts to turn up" things to that effect and been promising pictures to come soon.

Well, today is that day, today we build!

Here is your first look at the parts pile.

Are you using your 6870 again in this build?

I was going to short term until the new one arrived. Thus why it appeared at the top of the thread. However I then realised having moved to Intel, that I now had an on-board card. So instead of putting the 6870 in just to remove it again, I'll be putting the new card in tomorrow.

My brother has a hard-on for the Z97 Mark S.  Lovely board. Also, awesome White build.

Oh maan i hope you use the Galax(y) HOF white gpu..

This build is soo nerd porn

Unfortunately not, I couldn't justify it after the money I spent out on the rest. Maybe as a refresh later in the year. I was tempted to do a liquid cooled card with white NZXT bracket, but have given that a miss for now also.

I'd have loved to put a white card or even a black one with white accents in there, unfortunately they don't seem all that common. I'm happy with the choice I've made for now, maybe I'll try some DIY on it at some point. You will get to see tomorrow, I'm sure with it braking from the white, that it will not be to everyone's tastes.

Thanks for the compliment on the build though, I'm really pleased with it.

I love how the white case combined with the white "thermal armor" makes it look like there's no motherboard at all. Also, are you considering painting the GPU?

PS just noticed you have the same wallpaper I'm using  :D

That's one of my favourite things about the whole build, and one of the first things I noticed. The board just kind of disappears in there.

I have a bunch of rotating wall papers, but that's one of my favourites :D

It actually makes it look like the motherboard makes part of the case... creepy...

Really nice, clean effort. looks awesome! Treat yourself to a new monitor ;)

J.

You're not wrong about that, the 32" TV has treated me well over the years, but it's not a monitor. I've planned the finances, new monitor shall be mid to late May. Planning on a 34" Ultrawide.

Thanks for the compliments on the build.

The GPU was unexpected. But on the bright side look how can you easily just wrap the blue part next to the "Sapphire" LED. It doesnt matter what you cant see but adding a vinyl wrap or a sticker to the blue part would make this build amazing!

Have you been reading my mind? ;)

I put some thought into this choice, I'm actually not displeased with the look as it is. But yes, I'll be looking at options for de-blueing it at some point. It seemed like a card that would look good to start with and look great with a little bit of tweaking. It's got a nice looking back plate on it, so I don't have to stare at PCB and pins :)
