Or if you have a USB WiFi adapter, you can use that. That's what I did

If you have the option to use ethernet you should always take that over WiFi.

Just built my new rig and I am not connected to the internet. When I troubleshoot it says " windows could not find a driver for your network adapter". How can I fix this? If it helps my mobo is a Asus Hero VII.

Use a separate computer to download the drivers. That's what I do.

Yes I know that, but there won't be any driver issues.

Every one I have tested has been

So are most ethernet ports on motherboards although I've encountered a handful that weren't, just grab the driver from the manufactures website and you're off. Suggesting to buy a $20 wifi dongle just for a driver problem just sounds a bit silly to me :P
