Processor Advice

I am looking to upgrade to a z97 haswell based system. Right now I'm running a z77 3570k rig. What would be the best performance value out there right now. Or would it be better to wait for skylake?

Your cpu will be good for another 2-4 years, buddy. Don't bother upgrading

Just wait. The recent couple generations of Intel's CPUs haven't really improved per-clock performance. Both the clockspeed and the number of cores are pretty much the same.

 

Upgrade in a few years when you either need it or there is something with more cores(at a reasonable price) and/or much better per-core performance.

if you're just playing video games your processor is perfectly fine to match with any high end GPU's.

The 3570k is a monster, why would you replace it with just a slightly faster quadcore?
