Would it be possible for me to buy a Titan/Reference cooler and just put it on my 970 or is that not an option?

From what I remember my MSI 970 doesn't have a Custom PCB?

Also if it is possible, where could I buy one and get it delivered to Northern Ireland?

No Titan or 700-series coolers, but you can get a GTX 980 reference cooler and put it on almost any EVGA card. Not yours though, since it doesn't have a reference PCB.

Damn I thought it had a reference PCB.

So this is confirmed as no way at all other than selling this one and buying one from Overclockers?

I might be wrong about the ACX cards, but you won't be able to put that cooler on there.

I can be wrong so take my comments with a grain of salt:

1. Isn't the die size different ??? like the dimensions of that chip.

2. The screws that you use to tighten the heat sink to the die aren't in the same spot.

Chip dimensions are the same (since there's nothing that changes between a reference card and a non-reference card in terms of the core itself.)

I just think that a blower would of better suited my tight spaced case :(

I mean between the Titan and the 970, are the die size the same ?????

MSI makes a 970 with the same board layout as a reference 980, and it has a blower cooler (cheap plastic one though). It's model MSI GTX 970 4GD5 OC. EK easy that their 980 reference water block is compatible with that card, so I assume a reference air cooler would be as well.

Titan: Intel Core i7-5820K | ASUS X99-A | Crucial Ballistix Sport 4x4GB DDR4-2400 | ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 970 | OCZ Arc 100 2x256GB in RAID 0 | Seagate Barracuda 2x2TB in RAID 1

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 | Fractal Design Define R5 Titanium Window | Phanteks PH-TC14PE | ASUS BW-12B1ST

If you own that exact model of MSI 970, you should theoretically be able to swap out the stock cooler for a 980 cooler. This theory is based purely on the assumption that 2 GPUs that are compatible with the same full cover water block will also be compatible with the same air cooler.

I don't know if a reference 970 is available in Ireland, but it is from Newegg in the US. Perhaps you could find someone to buy/bring/ship you one?

You can get a reference 970 from Overclockers UK but it's £40/$60 more expensive than a Custom Cooler.

But the 970 Gaming you have in your sig is incompatible, so you'd need a new GPU and cooler anyway. How much is a standalone cooler where you are?

I don't know what you mean..

From your signature: GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V

The GPU that I said was compatible look like this, not the one you have. Yours is model "MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G." The one that works with the reference cooler is model "MSI GTX 970 4GD5 OC."

Considered attaching an AIO instead of a blower?

Thought about that but it was just an idea :)

But that already has a blower. That would already solve his problem if he had that :P

This is true. The Nvidia reference is the only blower that doesn't look cheap as hell.

Although this EVGA blower doesn't look terrible it has the whole EVGA rectangular smooth lines aesthetic.
