BOINC vs Folding

I am so confused... I found out that im running BOINC on my desktop and folding on my laptop, but they seem to be intercompatible because all of my points and stuff are on both. Whats the difference and what should I use????? Please help.

I think it's more personal preference.

I hear BIONIC is more AMD and Folding is more NVidia. But don't know if that true.

Which ever you like better. They're both doing it for a good cause.

I like folding@home because it's stanford and has a neat interface.

Something as simple as that can help. I don't understand bionic though. so I guess whichever has more point?

Folding is specifically made to assist medical research whereas with boinc you can choose al sorts of areas of science you want to support.

They are not interchangeable at all, just to clarify that. They both have their own separate

eco systems with points and all that. Boinc is a platform that gives you access to a bunch

of different science projects, while folding is... just folding run by Stanford. Boinc is 

open source and folding is not fully open. 

 

folding is strictly for medical research while boinc is anything you find a corresponding

project for, be it mathematics, physics, space, nature, medical research etc.. i'd say 

consumer responsibility, try and check out the project you are going to support to see

how sensible and trustworthy you think it is. On the other hand, folding would seem like

a pretty safe bet.
