Alright, so I am currently using a G3258 @ 4.5Ghz with a 970 but I'm not really getting all that great of FPS especially when fighting raid bosses and such. Now I know that my CPU is bottle necking my GPU, but this seems a bit much, while in game I usually only see like 30-40% GPU usage and 100% CPU usage. Is there someway I can turn off some particle effects to get steadier framerates in fights? I used to play on an older computer that had an 8350 and a GTX660 and it ran MUCH smoother. Thanks for the help.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂

Do you still have the 8350 system? Put the 970 in that = profit.

Is PhysX on? That used to kill my FPS in Metro:LL.

No, I have it on low.

Unfortunatly no, I sold that machine a little over a year ago.

would probably still bottleneck a bit. I'll bet not as much though.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Not even close, not even in this universe or the next.

In the Nvidia control panel, under 3D settings, there under "Manage 3D settings" you should see this

If it's not set to "prefer maximum performance", change it to that. That was a problem for me on my 780 for a while.

Yeah, at first I thought that might be my problem, but it was already set to prefer max performance.

borderlands is heavily cpu based so there's not much you can do. I'd suggest turn down individual settings and see if they take some of the stress off of your cpu. Good luck.

Then I've no idea what your problem is.

You needed to update PhysX. Nvidia didn't release an update for PhysX in a driver package that fixed a bug with PhysX in Last Light.

How long ago? The last I played LL was mid 2014 :P

Around that time. I had the same issue, as well as tons of other people. It was discovered that Nvidia left out a PsysX update in a driver package, so someone on Tom's Hardware pointed it out and after installing the most recent PhysX driver, my issue was resolved.
