Hey guys, I just got an SSD. I have a 1TB HDD already and it has all my programs and files on it as well as my OS. Basically I want to use the SSD as a boot drive and a place to store some programs that I use often. So my question is this: is there a way that I can migrate only my OS over to the SSD while keeping all of my programs and files on my HDD? Thanks a lot for your answers, I really appreciate your help!

Ok cool! I'll check this out after my class. Will I be able to fun my programs and read my files off my HDD though??

So far as i'm aware you cant just move your OS. Maybe someone else knows a way though?

Hope it ends up being of some help.

Ok gotchya. I think the only way to do it is to delete everything from your current drive except the OS and the migrate, or just do a fresh install into the SSD.

So far as i am aware. A bit of  a shame indeed. Unless you have an old drive that could hold your data for a while.

I do actually have a notebook HDD that I could keep everything on....maybe I could clone my current HDD to that, delete everything but my OS from my current drive, clone it to my SSD, then clone the notebook HDD back to other one??? haha complicated! Do you think that would work though???

I do think that'd work :P or even move over only the necessary files (all but OS) to the laptop hdd and then move your os over to your ssd and fill your hdd back up :P

Complicated either way i think :P

Damn! haha I guess the easiest way to do this would be to just do a fresh OS install to the SSD and then just change the directories and folder to my HDD.....hopefully.....haha
