2 OSs, 1 HDD

So, I would like to either install Kali Linux, and Windows 8.1 OR put RAID 0 on my HDD. This may sound extremely stupid so forgive me if it is improper use of terminology, but can I do the first with partitions? Can I (on my 1TB HDD) allocate 800 GB to Win 8.1 and 200 GB to Kali Linux?
