Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 in SLI or should I upgrade?

Daniel91

I use this pc mostly for rendering cartoons for my animation class so far there aren't any problems with the graphics cards and the i7

should I upgrade the cards or just live with the GTX 970s, because I'm not sure if the VRAM incident will it affect the rendering please advice thank you

don't worry about gaming I have another rig with a Sapphire R9 290X Vapour X, only using this system for the animation creation thanks

Do your cards perform fine?

If so, just keep the damn things. It seems like people think that the cards have become shit because of the news. The fact is, the card still performs as well as it did on day 1. If you're unsatisfied with the performance, return them and get GTX 980s. If you're satisfied, keep them.

I think you have your answer right there. If it's going well/you've been satisfied I don't see why anything would change.

Depends, what resolution do you game at?

Unless it's at 4K, the 970s should be fine

won't the rendering be even slower if I didit on the R9 290X? the SLI GTX 970s takes about 4 and a half hours already for a 30 min animation

why not render and game on the same machine...

unless you are gaming and rendering at the same time, and why do you need a dedicated pc to render FOR SCHOOL?
