Is Intel RAID the worst thing ever?

Specifically RAID 5, but any of them really. These are the MASSIVE speeds I get from a 3x3TB RAID 5 (Each drive is capable of 140/140 on it's own):

Can't believe I bothered waiting days for it to initialise. Why on earth does Intel even bother? Why do people even use it? It's not even hardware based, I wish Windows supported ZFS and RAIDZ.

More complicated levels of RAID like 5 are not really very good on integrated solutions.

 

For that, you need a RAID card.  If you want to do simple RAID lke 0, 1 I imagine that is where the performance would be much better to be used.

I'd recommend getting a RAID card if you're doing stuff other than RAID 0 and RAID 1.
