So i currently have an i5 4440 in the build im temporarily using, and i usually max it out at like 95% usage when i play games with many tabs open/programs. Would switching to an 8320 give better performance in this regard? Or is an i7 worth the major price jump?

The 8320 would be a downgrade. A 4690/4690K may be a better upgrade if you're tight on money.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

If somehow you could turn everything you do to use all 8 cores it would be an upgrade bit since that isn't the case it's still a downgrade imo. The 8350 would be but it leads to a very scary pathway I would just stay or get a 4960

Well, with a faster i5 or an i7, you dont need a new motherboard.

Go with amd, and you will end up with the cost of CPU + Motherboard, and lesser performance.

There is no reason to go from Intel to AMD.

Are you experiencing bad performance?  Or you are just concerned because usage is high?  Also, what browser do you use?

You would be paying more money to switch to a dead socket and down grading to a processor which is less powerful. Hell no.

If you have a z97/z87 motherboard get an unlocked i5 or i7. If you don't have a z** motherboard then get the Xeon 1230v3. Its basically an i7 without integrated graphics and is cheaper.
