Im new here but have been a fan of tech tips for a while now.

My friend told me his fans were running loud so I asked him for some CPU temps. (See picture for details)

He keeps his computer on 24/7 against my warnings and there were very few programs running at the time.

How can I get more information about his situation?

What should I advise him to do?

I told him already to turn it off or take of the side panel to lower temps.

Thanks for any and all help.

J.

Those temps aren't bad (if at load, and using the stock cooler).

See what's actually running....there may very well be something running in the background he doesn't realize.

I can't tell you how many computers I've dealt with that were running slow when "nothing" was running...

A lot of times when people have issues, it's rooted in the fact that a ton of shit is running in the background and they don't even realize.

1. He is checking his background processes.

2. I am giving him my cooler master cpu cooler (Yes he has the stock one). And also I am making sure he uses fresh thermal paste to make sure the heat distribution is good.

3. Ill update you on the background processes.

Thanks for all the quick responses guys.

It looks to have been a temporary load. Not sure why the temp went up that high though...

He found some dust build up after he opened up the case, most of witch is gone now.

These temps look a lot better even with the crap picture quality.

Thanks again.
