No TaskBar/Icons

Help, My friend is running Windows 7 and he has no icons or taskbar. He only has a black screen.

Can someone Help PLS.

I have the same problem.  What happens when you boot into safe mode and uninstall the graphics card drivers and restart?

in his task manager, it does say that explorer.exe is running

he is restarting, and i did think of going into safe mode, but we r going to see if this works first

Does he get a cursor?

 

If you google "windows 7 blank screen " there are alot of results and fixes for a few issues it could be also if you get stuck.

Did he install any graphic card driver recently? Or new graphic card? Pull out the graphic card and use on board graphic to boot in. If you're able to login into the desktop. Then uninstall the graphic card driver and install the disc driver then update to stable version instead of beta.

no new gpu/gpu driver. we do not know his gpu, but he has vga output on his mobo.

he has a Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 mobo

the only popup he gets swhen logged on is I2SpeedChecku35.exe stopped working

Could it be a virus?  Does he have any virus software?
