no need for Z97, he will not OC

It does not matter if he wants to OC or not. Who says a non OC CPU cannot be used on a Z97 chipset board, is there a like a rule for that or the board will not work with it detects a locked CPU? In price comparison, H87/97 boards won't save too much compare to Z87/97. For saving on a build, I would get a B85.

I know you didn't, just saying even if a person is not getting a OC CPU, it does not mean they cannot get a Z97 board, much like some will think to build a gaming computer, you must get a unlock CPU.

yes i know that, but  its no point in spending extra bucks on z97(imo) if he aint gonna overclock. that money could go to others.

Peace

going with a Z series chipset board with an locked cpu is pretty pointless imo.

Because the only adventage you get from a Z series board is Sli capabillity, but thats it.

Crossfire will work on H series boards, but only on 4x.

But if you never plan to go with a dual gpu setup, then that does not make sense.

If you go with a locked cpu, then i would recommend to go with a nice H97 board.

Its basicly all you gonne need.

The 4570 is a haswell 1.0 chip, so you could also concider a H87 / B85 chipset board eventualy.
