so I have a radeon hd 7850 from MSI, and I just got a new monitor that is from asus called VG248 and it has some sort of hardware that is compatible with nvidia graphics.

So I was wondering would a Nvidia graphic cards work with a AMD cpu? and if so what should i upgrade to?

VG248what?

VG248QE with G-sync DIY implemented?

If you have an AMD CPU you can't go above GTX 780. At that point it will be bottleneck. (Even lower cards get bottlenecked in some games)

1. an amd card will work with that monitor regardless

2. a nvida card works with a amd cpu.

3. nvidia ; 150$ 750ti 200$ 960 300$ 970 amd 150$ r9 270x 200$ r9 280x 300$ r9 290x

so this G-sync thing is not a nvidia graphics card exclusive deal? and also what do you mean by bottleneck? I wont achieve the same amount of FPS using a AMD cpu because of compatibility issues?

Will this bottle neck problem be severe? or is it negligible? and zlolslavez thanks for the recomendations, but is my graphics card really that bad?

G-Sync is nVidia exclusive... if you bought a G-Sync monitor make sure you buy a nVidia GPU.

thats what I thought, Im thinking about picking up a 960 as recommended by the previous poster

The GTX960 does support G-Sync though I have to say it isn´t a great choice a GPU in terms of price to performance. But since you already have that G-Sync monitor probably your best choice when you are on a budget. If you could sell your GPU and get a GTX970 that would be a much better choice.

You won't achieve the same amount of fps because AMD cpus are slow, not because of compatibility. Their own GPUs get bottlenecked by their CPUs.

So should i upgraded my cpu when im upgrading my graphic card as well? currently im using a AMD processor eight core 3.5 ghz, but if this is gonna throttle once i get a gtx 970 i might as well get a 960 in order to get the full potential of my cpu.
