Hello, Ok so I was wondering what kind of CPU and GPU you think I will need to run most of the new games that are coming out today on high settings? One of the games I'm building my computer to play is No Man's Sky which will be coming out later this year and will be quite demanding of a computer. For my first build I'm not going to do 4k monitors because its just too expensive and i don't know enough about it so ill keep it simple. So yeah let me know what kind of cpu/gpu you guys would use if you were making a computer for new games.

Anything above an entry level i5 (above FX6300) and above a 750TI (R7 260x/r9 270) should run 1080p mid-high at playable frame rates. Adjust depending on the money you have.

I'm assuming if it's just 1080p gaming as stated then go with 760 or r9 270 for some decent to good gaming capability for now along with any amd six core cpu. If you want some longevety though go with a 970 or r9 280 with any intel quad core such as an i5

I fix computers and computer accessories... sometimes... when I want to...

i5 and a 970 will pretty much max out every game at 1080p and will keep you future-proof for a little while

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

970 is faster than the 290X. A little more expensive in most countries though I believe.
