So, my plan is to run 3 4-pin pwm and 2 3-pin fans off of a ROG Maximus 7 ranger. Since that's only got 3 4-pin fan headers I'm planing on using a Y-cable to power the 2 pwm fans mounted on a radiator and a a 3-pin y-cable to power 2 case fans. I guess since it's voltage regulated adjusting the 3-pins should work but i got no idea how AI-suite deals with y-cabled fans.
So, if anyone could tell me how to control the fans in that config I'd pretty much be set to finally purchase my new rig.Any help appreciated

Btw, the fans would be the corsair af-120 3-pin and sp-120 pwm fans (quiet edition)

Welcome to the forums if someone hasn't said already,

Seems like a good idea you have there, just be sure not to mix up the 4 pin and 3 pin fans together or the 3 pins will run at full speed if connected to 4 pin PWM controlled headers. AI suite should have no problems with splitters in any situation just be sure not to exceed 3-4 fans per header since most have around a 1Amp limit.

I would have:

Header 1 -> 3 pin Splitter -> two 3 pin fans

Header 2 -> 4 pin Splitter -> two 4 pin fans

Header 3 -> 4 pin fan

Yeah, that's what I was going for, but can AI suite handle 3-pins? never tried it :/ well speedfan's still out there just in case I guess.

AI suite has a voltage speed control and PWM control option so just make sure the header you are using for the 3 pin is set to voltage control or you'll quickly find out that those fans will run at full speed.
