Question about Mantle.

Okay I have a doubt about a benchmark I saw online with mantle.

 

As you can see this is totally gpu bound , now the question is :

 

1- Did mantle reduce the cpu overhead making the game less cpu dependant.

2- Or is the scene not cpu intensive at all?

 

I have tried mantle with my old phenom II and the performance difference was actually insane.

 

We are talking like 10 fps , with low end cpu parts its really an amazing technology.

 

But never had other cpus to make a comparison.

Singleplayer(and much of multiplayer) is smooth on Pentium G3258; should tell you how easy it is on singleplayer.

 

Mantle does help.

Odds are they tested something that wasn't CPU bound enough to show a difference.

Considering 90% of that scene was walking around slowly headshotting people I'm not surprised.
