Penetration testing

Greetings,

I am looking forward to becoming a pen tester in the future but I lack the knowledge to do so,I learned all I can from google but that is not enough.So I would love it if someone could take the time to personally teach me pen testing or lead me to some underground forums that can.I know it's a shame we can't discuss this topic publicly.Mods,l hope I am not breaking any rules by posting this as this is for educational purposes only.

To know pen testing you really need to know how to secure a solution in the first place, that will then give you the experience to then find the "cracks" in networks.

 

You can then build a set of common tests that will try to expose these cracks. 

 

A lot of people think that a pen tester is a hacker that just goes nuts trying to hack someones network, whereas this is not really the case, you will find that this mostly consists of default scans and profiling of networks trying to secure for about 95% of the common attacks not trying to find that 1% edge case.

To know how to "penetrate" some security stuff you need to know how it works in smallest details. Then you must find vulnerability in it and find a way to use it. For every step you need to understand few programming languages in detail.
