You can probably find cheaper RAM, and I'd get an actual SSD instead of a hybrid drive, and a regular HDD instead of a hybrid drive for the storage drive.

You can also likely find a better deal on a PSU. Like an EVGA G2.

one 290x is not gonna preform similarly to 2 970's in sli.

Save some money and be able to use 4GB VRAM

There is no need at all for 4 gbs or vram on  1080p gaming. even on 1440p the 3.5gb from the 970 is more than enough and its not like hes getting a 4k monitor....

Anyway nice build, but why did you take 2 sshd's?

If you're going for a setup with 1 bootdrive and one mass storage drive you'd be better of getting one actuall ssd and one normal hdd, cuz an sshd is fun but nowhere near as fast as an actual ssd. now if you can afford ssd boot but turn the hdd for mass storage into an sshd i get it. but with two sshd's you kinda taking the middelroad where the sshd wont give you much joy for mass storing stuff ass this generally takes little to no time anyway whilts your boot times wont be as good as they could be either.

But just a tip, its your pc afterall :)

My rig. Case & psu: evga hadron air. Cpu: Intel i5 4690k. Gpu: MSI gtx970 4gd5 OC. Mobo: Gigabyte GA-z97n gaming 3. Ram: 2x4gb Crucial Balistics Tactical @ 1866mhz. Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B se2. Ssd: Crucial mx100 512gb.

True, why not spend an extra $50-80 on a 780 Ti as they are now $400?

Well i was talking relative to a 970, sorry for the confusion

And besides, i would spend the money on the Ti as it is cooler, quieter, has better overclocking and is more advanced

The only reason i would get a 290X will be the 4GB RAM, thats it
